Terms of use

The service

lalalabook is a stage songbook: each user keeps their own songs (chords and lyrics), lays them out on one landscape A4 page, builds setlists and shares them privately with people they choose and with their bands. There is no public catalog: content is only visible to its author and to the people they shared it with.

Account

You sign in with a Google account. Anyone can create an account, within a daily limit; new accounts start on the free plan. You are responsible for the use of your account.

Plans and limits

Each account is on a plan that sets limits (number of songs, setlists, people a song is shared with, bands and band members). The service is currently free. If paid plans are offered, their prices and terms of sale (including the right of withdrawal) will be shown before any subscription.

Your content

You remain responsible for the content you add and share. You confirm that you hold the necessary rights, or that your use stays within a private use allowed by law. Sharing is deliberately limited to a small number of people: lalalabook is not a way to distribute works to the public.

You grant lalalabook only the right to host, technically copy and display your content for you and for the people you share it with, for as long as needed to run the service. lalalabook does not use your content for any other purpose.

Prohibited content

Content that infringes the rights of others (including copyright), illegal, hateful, violent or discriminatory content, and any use aimed at getting around sharing limits are prohibited.

Content removal

Every reported item is reviewed. If it is removed, its author is told why in the app; the content is no longer visible to the people it was shared with and can no longer be shared. The author can contest the decision by writing to hello@lalalabook.com: the request is reviewed again and the content restored if the removal was not justified. Serious or repeated breaches may lead to the account being suspended.

Availability and liability

lalalabook does its best to keep the service available and your data safe, but cannot guarantee it in every circumstance. Keep a copy of your important songs (PDF export).

Changes and governing law

These terms may change; the date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. They are governed by French law.

Privacy policy

Data we process

• Account: email address and name of your Google account, plan, language, creation date.
• Content: your songs, setlists, bands, display settings, version history, and the email addresses of the people you share with.
• Reports: reason, details, email address of the person reporting, and date; title of the reported content and email address of its author (or name of the band); decision and its reason. The administrator reads the reported content to make the decision.

No advertising, no ad trackers, no analytics. The app keeps your preferences (language, theme, last library opened) and a copy of your songs on your device so it works offline; this data is strictly necessary and needs no consent. It also counts your visits on the device, only to suggest installing the app; this counter is never sent. When you sign out or delete your account, the app erases from the device the copy of your songs, the last library opened and the visit counter; language and theme are kept. If the app is open in other tabs, close them before signing out, otherwise their copy stays on the device.

Purposes and legal bases

• Providing the service (account, library, sharing, bands): performance of the contract.
• Handling reports and removing illegal content: legal obligation.
• Security and abuse prevention: legitimate interest.

Recipients and processors

Your content is only visible to you and the people you share it with. Processor: Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Hosting). The pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, which sends your IP address to Google. When you export a PDF, the app loads two libraries from cdnjs (Cloudflare), which then receives your IP address. Transfers outside the European Union may occur; they are covered by the Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. No data is sold.

Retention

• Account and content: as long as the account exists.
• Items in the trash: 30 days. History: the last 10 versions of each song.
• Reports: 12 months after the decision.

Your rights

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction and objection. In the app, tap your plan badge (My account) to export your data or delete your account: your songs, setlists, history and settings are erased, and you are removed from shares and bands. For any other request, write to hello@lalalabook.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr).

Report content

If you can see a piece of content (shared with you or in one of your bands), use the ⚑ Report button in the app: pick a reason and add details. The person who shared it is not told who reported it.

If you are a rights holder or don't have an account, write to hello@lalalabook.com with:

• your name and email address;
• the content concerned, as precisely as possible (title, artist, person or band sharing it);
• why you believe it is illegal, and where relevant the rights you hold;
• a statement that the information you provide is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.

Every report is reviewed promptly. If the content is removed, its author is given the reason and can contest the decision.
